Exercise: Drawing Type
You will NOT be using the computer for any part of this assignment. Research and find three completely different typefaces that you like and bring an example of them to class. You may NOT pick one from the internet. Using the word "Type" first try to draw them to match as perfectly as you can to fill up the space on an 11"x8.5 " piece of paper. You will be using your Ultra Fine Tip Sharpie and a ruler, if you wish. Show the serifs, strokes, counter space, etc. Then draw 3 thumbnails and one rough for each of the typefaces, considering that the headline will be the word "Type". Submit all work to your instructor in a manila envelope labeled "Type Assignment" and your name.
