Exercise: Using a Grid Graphic designers use a grid often in their design work and illustrations. You will be doing Problem 9.6, Composing with a Grid, page 217, in your textbook. Use paper imprinted with a grid and felt tip pens as your tools for your three drawings. The imagery will be from the natural world, so you will need to come to class with photos or scanned images of scenes and objects in nature. The first drawing will be objects directly on the grid, the second, will have some overlapping of the divisions, and the third will use a grid of irregular units.
