Exercise: Visual Analogy In order to make drawings which the audience can relate to and also be interesting and to the point, graphic designers learn how to do use objects as symbols to represent an idea or thought. You will do Problem 10.8, Individual Theme: A Series of Opposites/Transformations, p. 236 of your textbook. Bring several dissimlar objects to class along with your sketchbook, newsprint, pencils, graphite or colored pencils. You will follow the directions on the assignment which deal with transformation and morphing. Look at the shape of the objects, angles, curves, and colors to see where morphing can occur. Draw with the idea that the morphing is interesting and can mean something. When finished, submit your drawing to the instructor. This is due one week from today.
