236: Multimedia Technology II Project: Web site
for Retail Company
Scenario:
You have been
placed in charge of creating a web site for one
of the following retail stores:
- Mooselake
- The Gap
- Ann Taylor
- Sears
- Nike
- Lloyd's Automotive
The client would
like to see some products listed with prices and
a page for ordering besides an exciting
introduction to the site. You may decide to show
some products from various angles or in unusual
environments. You decide to use the program Flash
to make a great opening (splash) page and put the
rest of the information in Dreamweaver or to
html. The clients would like to see the files on
the web.
Primary
tasks:
A. From the client list
given to you, research the web for information on
these companies. Also visit the stores in
Spokane.
B. Choose a company and
create thumbnails that would be competitive with
current web pages.
C. Create the site using
the appropriate software and Flash.
D. Turn in the files with
appropriate extensions to your instructor.
Objectives:
- Research sites on the
web and visit stores to determine what
you will to do be competitive
- Create an exciting
opening splash page
- Use the appropriate
software effectively
- Include all
information requested by the client
- Present the piece on
time
Grading
Criteria:
The final project
will be assessed on:
1. Self and
instructor assessments
- The student
was able to identify weaknesses
- The student
identified steps for improvement
2. The quality of
the solution and execution
- The student
completed the assigned competency listing
- The student
presented a professionally designed piece
on or before the stated deadline
