GRDSN 238, 3D Animation I
Project: Small Animation for the Web

Scenario:

Ecotimes wants an animated object to use as a logo/identifier on their web site - a plant, insect, animal. The colors can be anything natural and it needs to animate within 2 seconds. The word "Ecotimes" should not be added at this time. For those in the Web Design Program, the client would like to see the animation on a web page with a white background.

Primary tasks:

  1. Research ecological/environmental logos and try to find some that are animated, reporting what you have found back to class.
  2. Create the logo with the software using the tools already known.
  3. Add lighting and check the viewpoint.
  4. Animate the object for use on the Web.
  5. Render the object using the size and file type required for use on the Web (Flash animation)
  6. Test your animation on the web window.

Objectives:

  • Research the web to come up with a logo that could be effectively animated on a home page
  • Use the software to model an object accurately and with creative thought about animation
  • Choose a viewpoint to render the object that is aesthetically pleasing and correct
  • Render the animation of the object with the correct size and file type for a Flash animation
  • Create a Flash animation
  • Submit animation on the web
