Our company started a century ago in Tokyo, Japan. Mr. Eikichi Matsuda
opened the first of many restaurants named after his boyhood neighborhood
in Osaka, Yoshino-Cho.
years later, we crossed the Pacific and brought our unique style of
food to the United States. When we opened our first restaurant in
Los Angeles on June 4, 1979, we had one goal: to change the way Americans
thought about fast food. And why not? Yoshinoya's traditional Japanese
cuisine offered a healthy, nutritious, and tasty alternative to burgers
and pizza. Our original menu was simple, yet delicious with bowls
of beef cooked in a savory blend of secret spices and served over
a bed of steaming California rice. Over the years, we have opened
restaurants across the world and expanded our menu. However, our commitment
to bring you a delicious fast food alternative with an emphasis on
value and service has never changed. After 100 years, our recipe for
success is simple: give people good food served in a friendly environment.
That's the Yoshinoya way. Over the years, we've perfected the recipe
for our famous Yoshinoya Beef Bowl: we use USDA choice cuts of beef
and simmer them in a light white wine broth to reduce fat, then season
them with our own blend of select herbs and spices. What is the result
of the painstaking process? It is a meal with half as much fat (gram
for gram) as the leading fast food hamburgers, full of deliciously
tender, full-flavored beef strips, savory onions, and fresh steamy
rice. When we introduced our Chicken Bowl back in 1982, it was met
with immediate success. Filled with grilled boneless teriyaki chicken,
a variety of vegetables, and fresh, steamy rice, our regular Chicken
Bowl not only satisfies your appetite, but also has added benefits:
gram for gram, it has at least 33% fewer calories and 66% less fat
than the leading fast food chicken sandwiches. That's good news!

Yoshinoya menu are the Shrimp Tempura and Fish Tempura. We carefully
prepare and mix our top-secret tempura batter, then cook each piece
in cholesterol-free rice oil until it is light, flaky and golden brown.
Served over steamed rice, with our flavorful tempura sauce and vegetables,
including carrots, pumpkin, and kizami cabbage, our Shrimp and Fish
Tempura Bowls are hard to resist. At Yoshinoya, we're building on
