Site folder:
- Is stored in a safe location; network, thumbdrive, etc.
- Has at least one backup
- The site definition is exported (.ste file) saved in an accessible location
- Contains appropriate folders for file management; images, etc.
Image files:
- Are saved in the most appropriate format (.jpg or .gif)
- Are saved with a compression level that gives an efficient balance of small file size versus image quality
- GIF images with transparency have the fringe color adjusted to match the page background
- Are placed at 100% size
- Inserted, non-background, images have dimensions in the HTML and proper alternate title tags
Page files:
- Have meaningful titles
- No special characters (excepte underscore)
- Have been checked on a PC & a MAC (Internet Explorer & Firefox)
Working files:
- Are stored in a separate folder
- Contain all the parts needed to do revisions at a later date
- Are named logically
Cascading Style Sheets:
- Are linked from external css files if they control multiple pages
- The number of divisions is kept to a minimum
