WEB DESIGN

A.A.S. Degree

The Web Design program is a two-year course based upon the Graphic Design program. Students will study the fundamentals of design, drawing, typography, color and form, problem solving, critical thinking, and animation (2D / 3D). The use of computers and their operating systems is emphasized. Competency is achieved on the predominant graphic programs.

Specific to the internet, students will design web interfaces, develop electronic documents, and structure information to create web pages. Graphic imagery, audio, and animations tailored to the Web will be constructed, paying close attention to file formats, color control and compression techniques. Web pages will be programmed using HTML (hypertext markup language). An introduction to several programming languages designed for the Internet will aid in designing functions and interactivity in Web sites.

All courses are subject to change. The college can not guarantee class offerings, designated times or specific instructors. As funding levels and student interest may effect whether or not an offering is available.
